APS Cameras & Film
Kodak Advantix C450

I bought this camera very cheaply at a boot fair, really because I did not have an APS camera.

As it looked OK I thought I might as well try it and looked for suitable film od eBay. Black and white if possible then I could process it myself. I was under the impression it was actually a variant of 35mm film.

Anyhow I spotted some, bid and won only to find it was C41 process. Also it is obvious narrower than 35mm!

Well I put one film in with some batteries and ran it through the camera. It seemed to work but I wondered where to get it processed. I took it to my regular colour processor, no problem.

I did not want the prints, just the film developed. It came back in the original cassette. Seems this is the default system.

Breaking open the cassette I retrieved the film and obviously the camera is working as there were images on every frame.

Onto the scanner and below are some results:
Above is one of my regular test views. Below using the flash inside a local museum.

The format is 16:9, the modern TV aspect ratio although the view finder can be set to a wider centre strip or 4:3 centre. Evidently that data is recorded on the film but in practise all pictures are full16:9.

Below is a gallery of the 25 images on the film..
