A close up of the printed card body with the window cut out. Acetate sheet provided the window and also provides extra support for the printed card. Doors are also cut out with seperate doors giving a recess effect.
This is a printed card body where the side windows have grey card behind the acetate. This is the motor car and this is intended to hide the mechanism protruding into the car. The inner card is 1.5mm thick bristol and it is not possible to print directly onto it with general purpose inkjet printers. Similarly it is too thick for a Cameo plotter/cutter.
A trial body, printer was running out of ink but showing the mechanism behind the window. The use of grey to hide interiors is common on commercial models.
